Taiki Inomata (猪俣 大喜 Inomata Taiki?) is the protagonist of the Blue Box series. He is a second-year student at Eimei Senior High and a member of the Badminton Team.

Taiki is a very determined individual when it comes to his passion for badminton. His determination goes as far as aiming to achieve the national competitions similarly to Chinatsu. Taiki is also shown to be incredibly stubborn as evident by his habit of continuing a task even if appears daunting as seen when Haryu subjects to him to a highly aggressive exercise regimen. This stubbornness paired with his determination are what drives him to improve as he progresses towards Nationals.

Taiki is a rather observant person scrutinizing everything to finest detail. Unlike Chinatsu he is also shown to be prone to romance but remains patient in both allowing his relationship to develop whilst improving on his badminton. He's generally also kindhearted but is not afraid to state his opinions or feelings bluntly such as when he told Hina that he had no desire of dating her, although he does show regret for upsetting her after the latter runs out of the sports hall.

  • In the original one shot for the series, he played Volleyball instead of badminton.
  • His Zodiac sign is Capricorn.
  • In the first popularity poll, Taiki came in 3rd place with 6,202 votes out of 144,518.
  • Taiki's birthday "January 15" is an alternate reading of "Ikko" which can be read as "good children."
  • Taiki and Chinastu started going out in chapter 105
